The School District of Philadelphia selects Cognis IT Advisors and Dell Corporation for $12.5 million computer hardware contract.
Philadelphia, PA (June 18th, 2008)
The School District of Philadelphia has chosen Cognis IT Advisors and Dell Corporation, to provide desktop and laptop computer systems to support more than 26,000 employees at over 300 locations including 273 schools, 4 administrative sites, 10 regional offices and 4 bus garages, ClearPoint announced today.
At a potential value of more than $12.5 million (the School District purchases approximately $2.5 million worth of Windows-compatible computer equipment per year), the agreement will assist the school district in maintaining an inventory of approximately 20,000 personal computers deployed throughout schools and administrative offices.
Under terms of the two-year agreement (with options to extend the contract on a year-to-year basis, for an additional three years, after the initial term), Dell will provide their OptiPlex business-grade desktop computers with monitors, and Dell Latitude laptop computers. Cognis IT will provide the school district with a variety of professional staffing/consulting services including installation/de-installation services, imaging services, and post-installation support.
